Meeting #2027 May 11, 2020

Another week in the books! This week theme was “Problem Solving” which is part of the monthly arching theme of “Logical Intelligence.”
This week’s Toastmasters of the Day was a long time member, Gina, who ran the meeting smoothly and efficiently. We were honored by the presence of our Toastmasters peers from Thai Airways International Club, in addition to the guests (Toastmasters and non-Toastmasters) from China and other countries. These visiting Toastmasters and guests showed up to a timely theme of problem solving as people are seeking to improve their communication, public speaking and leadership skills as a way forward to “sharpen our saw” during this coronavirus season. One item mentioned in the agenda was newsflash from a Toastmaster member from New Zealand, June, who gave us an update on the lockdown status in China, Hong Kong and New Zealand.
We had 3 great speakers this week. Vinny in his Level 1 Project 2 speech, entitled “Why Should the Audience Listen to the Speaker” gave us 3 reasons why the audience should listen to him: respect, values of the message and listener’s etiquette. Camille delivered her Level 2 Project 1 speech on “the Power of Communication.” DTM Paisal, our 3rd speaker, always uplifts us with his inspirational speeches. This time he delivered it from his car on his way home from a memorial service.

Best Speaker: Vinny
Best Topics Speaker: Lothar
Best Evaluator: Linda
