Bangkok Toastmasters Club meetings are currently online only.
Our new DTM, Club President Linda set a positive tone to our meeting # 2021. We were entertained by our Toastmaster of the Day, Lothar. He did a great job as Toastmaster. We also had quite a few guests who joined us this week from Denmark, Egypt, India, Malaysia, and Spain and they were treated to some amazing speeches. You should have been there!
Table Topics this week was run by Reo. Many questions were asked about social distancing and how we coped with this challenging situation. The questions varied quite a bit, but all questions were quite entertaining.
We had 2 prepared speech speakers and 3 unclassified speeches. Our 1st speaker, Saowanee delivered her L1P3 speech entitled “How to stay happy in the troubling time” and gave us 3 tips: reframe the challenges, stay focused and balance the social media. Her evaluator Camille did a wonderful job giving constructive feedback to the speaker. The 2nd speaker, Sasinipa presented her L3P2 project with the topic: “To be prepared” in which she talked about preparation to “sharpen our saw” when the health concerns are over. The steps she proposed were: keep our skills relevant, re-examine the industry we are in, and do not stop moving forward.
The session was concluded by 3 unclassified speech speakers:
Matt talked about 4Ps of creating opportunities for ourselves: prospecting, publishing, patience and people.
DTM Suphot shared his insights from the current government’s perspective on the emergency decree, especially implications on the expats.
DTM Paisal encouraged us not to give up, but support each other as covid-19 will soon pass.
Our ribbons winners this week were:
Best Speaker -Sasinipa
Best Table Topics Speaker – Rattanakorn
Best Evaluator – Camille.
